I love these kinds of posts, thank you! I have a much more capsule-esque wardrobe now, but will freely admit it does make me a bit sad as it seems to be solely practical and a bit on the boring side. Haven't quite mastered the mindful & joyful balance yet.
Yes to all of this. The TL;DR is perfect. I think that intentional clothing purchase is the only way to be sustainable while still loving fashion. A wonderful wardrobe is built over time!
I live in Spain and have quite a few Tony Mora and Sendra boots, but I had no idea of Mayura brand. Thank you! With no doubt, and in my experience, Spain makes the best western/fashion boots. Well, we also have Lucchesse...but they don't have the European flair. ;-)
I think it's so important to celebrate and highlight our workhorse items!
I JUST wrote a very similar piece yesterday, talking about the items in my wardrobe that I've had for 10 years. Posting it later this week, but so glad we seem to be on the same journey! Love your work in general Alec!
I probably buy too much resale. I run this nonprofit and if I don't like something it ends up there, and someone else can buy it, which makes it easy to be undisciplined about purchases. But I am working on being focused on need and fit, and less moved by bargains.
I agree down liners with no collar are the way to go.
And that Berner Kuhl sweater is awesome. I will add that brand to my resale searches (and wont buy unless it's perfect)

I love these tips, and the take home message.
